Re: Pawnee tow build
Neil has been hard at work getting the wings sorted out.
He has bull-nosed all the surfaces, made the corresponding trenches in the wing and together we glassed the radius to hold the skins together and give the hinges a little better purchase. He has done a really nice job of getting the fit just right.
We cut out the hinges from a material that is sold as wet wall sheet. It is a baker-light style base with an epoxy or plastic coating. as strong as circuit board, but much nicer to machine.
In the meantime, I have painted the fuse and started to mount all the items. Tail feathers are mounted with the tailplane magnets holding on like troopers. I have redone the throttle linkage to convert it to a pull rather than push action... its just more positive.

Re: Pawnee tow build
Hi Henryk and team,
Almost done with the SA Pawnee.
Starting to look the part, teh plug in tails on yours us a great idea Henryk. You say you have magnets holding them on? That sounds brilliant.
Must try that myself.
Cheers

Re: Pawnee tow build
Another long evening and some good results.
The new motor is all plumbed and all the wiring loom is ready. I also managed to cut some vinyl tonight and get a start on the decals... a bit more still but almost there

Re: Pawnee tow build
Neil has done some mighty nice work on the wings - servos are now mounted, worked out the linkages and all holes cut ready for gluing after the covering is done.
A little tidy-up and filling, then covering.
Not much left!

Re: Pawnee tow build
undercarriage arrived today - not exactly what was expected - but will do the job
that now means lots to do tonight with axles, hubs and mounts to make - and possibly a motor run tomorrow???
